Willand Weather is a meteorological station situated in Mid-Devon, in the United Kingdom.
The station consists of a number of standard meteorological instruments (see below) providing climatic weather (daily) reports and a high-grade consumer AWS (automatic weather station) to provide sysnoptic weather reports (continuous).
The station is located in the village of Willand in Devon, UK.
The coordinates of the station are 50deg 53min 2sec north, 3deg 22min 26sec west
The station consists of an Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station and includes a rain gauge, outdoor temperature, humidity sensor, solar sensor, anemometer and wind vane.
The AWS is a Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station with rain gauge, outdoor temperature, humidity sensor, solar sensor, anemometer and wind vane. The data is collected every few seconds and the site is updated every minute. Data is collected using Cumulus weather station software.
The climatological instruments consist of dry-bulb, wet bulb, minimum and maximum thermometers housed in a Stevenson screen. The thermometers are standard BS692 pattern thermometers. In addition the following thermometers are installed: grass, concrete and 30 cm soil.
Rain is collected in a standard 4 inch rain gauge.
Readings are taken daily at 07:30 and 19:30 GMT and are entered into spreadsheets.
Data from the AWS is availble via the links on the left hand side of the site main page. This record started in 2005 although rainfall data is available back to 1970. Other than rainfall, climatological records have only been collected since mid-2014.
